In the Italian tradition of community, mutual help, Christian faith and family, Scalabrini Village offers the provision of excellent care to the frail aged and people living with dementia delivered with a profound sense of justice and a respect for all cultures. Scalabrini has six aged care villages across NSW, five within the Sydney Metro area and the sixth located in regional NSW.

We are seeking an experienced Carer with a Certificate III in Aged Care to undertake the role of Care Services Employee our Drummoyne Village. The role entails providing care to residents as a member of the care team under the supervision of the Registered Nurse including assisting with assessment, assisting with personal grooming and hygiene, dining support, planning, implementation and evaluation of care and empowering our residents to have choices, providing them with person-centred care.

This is a PART TIME/CASUAL opportunity. We have 4 hour shifts available with morning or afternoon starts, across 7 days per week.

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent
  • Unit of competency HLTHPS006
  • Unit of competency HLTAP301
  • Previous experience in an aged care or community health setting and an understanding of issues relating to dementia care

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Ability to speak Italian or other languages
  • Demonstrated  knowledge of the aged care industry and person-centred care
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships
  • Confidence working in a flexible team environment
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Intermediate computer literacy
