The Village by Scalabrini has a vision to be Australia’s most advanced residential aged care facility for people living with dementia, incorporating the most recent research and elements of international best practice in the clinical and therapeutic management of dementia.

The Village by Scalabrini, located in Drummoyne is a state-of-art, award winning aged care facility offering a unique position within the aged care industry (varied experience considered).  

About You:

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with a broad ranging practical skillset. The Maintenance Officer will be responsible for providing all onsite maintenance activities, including repairs and maintenance of buildings, fixtures, fittings, equipment, and associated structures, as well as grounds/garden maintenance. They will often work autonomously and will be required to prioritise work activities. Their focus is on achieving a high standard of quality whilst working safely and efficiently.

This position is a full time opportunity.

Required:

  • Unit of competency CPCCOHS1001A  (Work safely in the Construction Industry) – White Card
  • A current NSW driver licence Class C
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Officer, preferably within an aged care environment
  • A good knowledge of building and maintenance practices and standards, including corrective and preventative maintenance programs
  • Good communication skills, with an understanding and empathy for aged care residents
  • Strong commitment to work, health and safety
  • Intermediate computer literacy

Desirable:

  • Relevant trade qualification
  • Experience liaising with tradespersons and contractors
  • Ability to speak Italian or other languages
