We are looking for an experienced Cook who is committed to quality, safety, and customer service excellence for our Austral Village. The Cook will be responsible for the preparation of a full range of high-quality food offerings for residents and families, and for customers of the Village Café. They will support the Chef Manager in menu planning and maintaining the food safety program, as well as the day-to-day supervision of Catering staff.

This position is a Casual opportunity, with a potential opportunity for permanent shifts in the future.

Required:

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent qualification/experience
• Previous experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen, preferably in an aged care or health services environment
• Previous experience in leading small teams
• Knowledge of the NSW Food Safety Act and HACCP Principles
• Knowledge of WHS and infection control principles
• Good communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service excellence
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Basic to intermediate computer literacy

Desirable:

• Unit of competency HLTAID003 (Apply First Aid)
• Ability to speak Italian or other languages
